Hey guys! So today I thought I’d show you the makeup products that have wiggled their way into my daily routine. I thought of doing a favorites post as well, but then I realized that all my favorite products are already incorporated into my everyday beauty routine, because, well… they’re my favorites. No surprise there.
Read on to find out which products made the cut!
This E.L.F. Mineral Infused Face Primer really fills in my pores and makes my skin so smooth! Any liquid or cream products I use on my face after applying it glide on so easily too! Love it ❤
I don’t use foundation on a daily basis, but if I am battling a pretty bad case of redness, I always reach for my L’Oreal Infallible 24H foundation in the shade 300-Amber. This is one of my favorite foundations, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore it. It matches me almost perfectly, is medium coverage, and controls oil. What more do I want in a foundation? It does set quickly, so work with it and blend it on different sections of your face one by one.
On most days, I skip foundation and go straight to spot-concealing. For concealer, I love using the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer (whew, that’s a long name!) to spot-correct. It provides a pretty great amount of coverage, and I like to use this on an everyday basis as opposed to my M.A.C. Pro Longwear Concealer, which is quite expensive. For the under-eyes, I sometimes mix it with my Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in the shade Medium to brighten it up a bit.
To set my under-eye concealer (trust me, I suffer from horrific creasing) and any other areas where I applied concealer, I use the Lakme Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact in the shade 05-Beige Honey. I’m going to put this out there- I do not believe in whitening products, neither do I want to lighten the color of my skin. At all. But, it works pretty damn well as a setting powder, especially for the under eyes! Why aren’t more people talking about this?
Next up, brows. Thankfully, I am blessed with thick brows, and don’t really find that I need to fill them in. So, there wasn’t really a point to me investing in a proper brow pencil or pommade. And thus, I came across the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in the shade Black/Noir. Interestingly, even though it is for those of us who have black eyebrows, it’s actually a super dark brown, rather than a straight-up black. I quite like that, because in my opinion, jet black has a tendency to look too stark. I don’t use this product everyday, but when I do, I like to use the wand to shape my brows and make them look a bit more defined.
Next, for my Kajal, which is every Indian girl’s holy grail makeup product, I use the Lakme Eyeconic (ha-ha, get it?) Kajal in the shade Black. This is my all-time favorite kajal, and I’m extremely loyal to it. No other kajal has managed to beat this one for the past five years of my life. Yes, you read that right. Five.
Moving on to eyeliner, I tend to stick to a gel formula because I find that the easiest to work with. Liquid eyeliner is just so… messy. I always reach for my Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in the shade 01-Black. Highly recommend, you cannot go wrong with it. It is also one of the few eyeliner formulas that doesn’t transfer on my oily eyelids. For everyday, I like to create a long and sharp wing.
And my holy grail mascara-L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Extra-Black Mascara! I use this every single day, and I stick to the non-waterproof version, of course. This is by far, hands down, the best mascara I’ve ever used. Will probably never give it up.
For bronzer, I actually use two products. Am I extra? Well, yes. But hey, at least I own up to it! I use the Kiko Design Flower Enriched Bronzer in the shade 02-Couture Sienna as more of a contour, and then I like to go in with my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade Bronzer (which smells ah-mazing) to bronze up the perimeter of my face.
Now, I don’t use blush everyday, because like I said, I have rather pink cheeks. But if I feel like I look a little too dead, I reach for my Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in the shade Creamy Cinnamon. Let me tell you something- I absolutely hate it when people put on insane amounts of blush, and that too, right on the apples of their cheeks. I feel like running up to them with a setting powder and fluffy face brush and blending it out. I quite literally have to physically stop myself from doing that in college sometimes. And so, I love this blush simply because it is so subtle and build-able, and you can’t go wrong with it. PS-I apologize for the state of my blush, as you can see, it is well-loved!
For highlighter, I like to use the Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminate Highlighter. It is pretty much an exact dupe of the Mary Lou-Manizer by The Balm. I usually use it only on my cheekbones though, because I have dry to combination skin and my nose and chin tend to get cra-oily throughout the day.
And last but not the least, lips! My favorite lip balm right now is the Fruity Lip Care by Nivea. It is a great balm to use under lipsticks, and smells quite nice, too. For everyday, I tend to stick to more neutral colors. I don’t like experimenting much with lip colors, and hence, just break out a vampy red if I’m feeling adventurous. But, right now, these are the lipsticks that I usually go for. If I’m feeling a nude, I’ll go for M.A.C. Whirl, but if I want something pink, I’ll pick out the Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer-proof Liquid Lipstick in the shade 482. I always get so many compliments on this, it’s unreal. If I’m feeling something more brown-y, I’ll reach for the ColorBar Ultimate 8hrs Stay Lipstick in the shade Brown Wave, a recent purchase I’ve been loving. And for lipliner, I usually go for my M.A.C. Lip Pencil in the shade Spice. I like to slightly over-line my lips, usually more on my bottom lip.
PS-This is what the end result usually looks like!
That’s all for today. Thank you so much for reading! x
