Review: Roumèr Cosmetics 3D Silk Eyelashes in ‘Vanessa’

Hi, my loves!

So recently, I’ve been trying to make an effort to research and explore products from indie cosmetic brands. While international consumers in the US and UK have a multitude of options to explore and pick from, there really haven’t been very many in the Indian market, and I’ve suddenly noticed quite a few coming up and really making a statement.

So, one day I was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram as one does (follow me here!), and came across a sponsored post by Roumèr Cosmetics. Suddenly, my phone screen had my complete, undivided attention.

Roumèr Cosmetics

Now this was a brand I hadn’t heard of before. I excitedly clicked onto their page, and saw that they had an eyelash collection out – perfect! I’ve been on the hunt for some wispy, separated falsies to really open up my eyes for more dramatic looks. But I also need something slightly natural, as with my eye shape, I can only carry off very specific styles of dramatic falsies.

I know, it’s a struggle.

Scrolling down their page, I spied a pair that fit my needs perfectly, named ‘Vanessa’. Bingo!

I quickly went onto their website and did some research. Their lashes are inspired by the Gossip Girl series, and each lash is named after a character – very aptly, I must say. Now, I’m a huge Gossip Girl fan, as it’s been a rather integral part of my teenage years. I was sold.

I quickly placed an order for the style “Vanessa”. Now, I admit that Serena and Jenny were my favourite characters, but the lash in Vanessa suited my needs. Oh, well. I’ll be grabbing them another time.

A few days later, my much awaited parcel showed up. I must say, for a new company, their entire website, check-out process and delivery process is extremely efficient – I was pleasantly surprised. You can really tell that the people behind this brand have been working at it for quite a while now and have the entire thing streamlined.

So, the moment of truth. Hoping that I would have found the perfect lash, I opened (more like ripped open) my box. And – I wasn’t disappointed!

The lashes came in a diamond shaped box, wrapped in thin, pink polka-dotted paper. The packaging immediately felt luxurious to me. Inside was a note from the owner, talking about the brand story.

In fact, she has further explained it beautifully on their website too!

I opened the box, and right before me was one of the most beautiful pairs of lashes I had ever seen! I think we all know my love for hyperbole, but I’m not kidding.

“The eyes, chica. They never lie”. I fully agree!

The lashes are wispy and separated, and super soft. The lash band is a little thicker compared to my usual pairs of Ardell lashes, but bendy and malleable none the less. In fact, it doesn’t move around as much during application so I think it’s a great lash band for beginners.

These 3D Silk lashes are also 100% cruelty-free, contain no chemicals or dyes and are made in the PRC (People’s Republic of China). Oh, and they don’t use mink hair!

The reason I love this pair so much is that it’s somewhere between natural and dramatic, right in the sweet spot for my weird and fussy (I don’t know how else to describe it) eye shape and style, which is a deep-set almond shape. From what I saw on their website, all their lashes sit somewhere there, I believe, which is great news for me.

I applied them with my black Huda Beauty lash glue, as per usual, and was in awe. They. Looked. Stunning. Here are some pictures – with and without the lashes, just so you can see what a world of difference they made.

I chose to apply them with my go-to look- a winged liner, of course, and was really impressed with how this pair took it to the next level.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed the entire experience from this brand, and have loved my first purchase from them. I definitely recommend Roumèr Cosmetics to my followers, I think they’ve done a great job with their brand and products! I also want to shout out the creator of this brand as I know it’s extremely hard to start an indie cosmetics brand from the ground up. There’s immense hard work behind it, and it’s pretty evident. Moreover, it’s a big risk starting off in the Indian cosmetics market, as shopping from indie brands is not very popular here at all. After seeing how much their brand has grown, especially on social media, I am so happy to know that Indian consumers are opening up to shopping for makeup beyond just the big brands. I’m excited to see what else this brand comes out with (they’ve already released a sponge and eyeshadow palette!) and I think they’ll be doing very well for themselves.

    1. Oh thank you! They’re my current favourite pair. I haven’t tried lash extensions, but this is a gorgeous style to go for if you do.
