Hi, my loves!
Now, I’m seldom excited for makeup collaborations, whether they be Indian or international. The last Indian collab I was excited about had to be YBP x Shreya Jain, where she had released a set of stunning Color Creams with them.
So, imagine my surprise when I was going through my Instagram stories and ended up on Nykaa’s story announcing their collection with Masaba. I say surprised, because I was excited, after a long, long time!
There is tons of hype around this collection, and for good reason.
The Masaba by Nykaa Lips and Tips collection features a set of 12 colour-coordinated lipsticks and nail paints. I love the Nykaa nail paint formula, and the colours looked stunning. I already knew it was a winner.
But, I’ve actually never tried the Nykaa bullet lipstick formula! And of course, I thought, “what better time to try it?”. Anything to justify adding another stunning lipstick to my collection, I suppose.
I logged on to peruse through the collection, and of course, the shade Nimbu Pani stood out to me. I am, after all, a sucker for browns, mauves, and nudes.
Lo and behold, this shade was an immediate “add to cart” for me.
So, packaging-wise, the lipsticks have a cardboard casing, each with a different Masaba print on them. The packaging is really pretty – so if you’re a sucker for packaging, get ready to get sucked in! Moreover, all the shades are made specifically to suit Indian skin tones – so there’ll be something for everyone.
My lipstick is cute and has nimbu’s all over it. Apt.
This pink-toned nude looks stunning on my NC41 skin tone. While it comes off more pink than a true nude on me, I don’t mind it! It looks deceptively ‘basic’ on the website, but it actually is a rather unique colour in my collection. In fact, I’ve been wearing it every day since I’ve got it (3 days!) and I’ve been getting tons of compliments. The last time this happened to me was when I decided to bless my lips with the iconic Chambor 482 Liquid Lipstick.
Now, I know that Nykaa’s formulas are usually amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I love this formula in particular! This lipstick is a satin-matte which actually doesn’t dry my lips out, at all. It’s extremely comfortable to wear, and while it does transfer a bit, I can’t really complain. It leaves behind a beautiful stain that’ll carry you through a few hours if you are unable to touch up. In fact, I was quite shocked at its lasting power. This is definitely great incentive to try more from Nykaa and add on to my never ending lipstick collection. Like I said, I just need an excuse!
At the price point of ₹599, this collector’s item is pretty affordable in my opinion. I’ll soon be giving the nail paints a try too!
